Fares - Public Transportation and Cable Cars
The Karlovy Vary Public Transport Company operates regular public transit routes, commuter services, and cable cars.
Public transportation is a key element of the transportation infrastructure. It provides efficient and environmentally friendly travel options for our city’s residents and helps reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions.
You can find the fare schedules for the routes in clear tables. We offer single-ride tickets as well as short-term and long-term public transit passes. Suburban transport fares are listed in a kilometer-based rate schedule.
You can pay your fare with a contactless payment card on all our vehicles.

Short-term time tickets for public transport and the Imperial cable car

Tickets are valid for an unlimited number of rides within their validity period, starting from the moment of validation (a weekly ticket is valid for 7 days, including the day of validation).
Reduced tickets may be used by selected categories of passengers who do not hold any of the recognized transport cards or the Vary Virtual app with a prepaid free fare:
- Seniors aged 65+ proof of age via ID card
- Children 6 - 10 years old no proof of age required
- Children 10–15years old must prove age with a student ID
- Students aged 15–26 must prove their age with a student ID card validated by the school for the current academic year or a valid ISIC card
- Retirees up to 65 years old must prove eligibility by presenting a transport card (eligibility is recorded upon presentation of a Decision on the Granting of an Old-Age Pension or a Decision on Third-Degree Disability)

The family round-trip fare applies to 2 adults + 2 children aged 15. The child round-trip fare applies to children aged 6 - 15. The group fare applies to a group of at least 10 passengers.
The EgroNet ticket is not valid for the Diana cable car.

* Recipients of the Silver or Gold Medal of Prof. MUDr. Jan Jánský. Time-based fares can only be purchased on the Karlovy Vary Card. The fee for issuing the Karlovy Vary Card is 170 CZK. One dog may be transported free of charge with any time-based fare purchased on the Karlovy Vary Card.
Shipping fee 20 CZK
Plate-shaped objects larger than 5 x 80 x 100 cm; narrow objects with a diameter greater than 10 cm and a length greater than 150 cm; dog.
Ticket sales by the driver
You can purchase a 60-minute transfer ticket from the driver for 50 CZK (or at a discounted rate of 30 CZK).
