Is the app free?
Yes, the app is completely free. Unlike the plastic card, you don’t pay any fees for it.
What if I already have a plastic Karlovy Vary Card?
You can easily link it to the app. Just enter your email and create a password. Did you use the Plzeňská karta e-shop to purchase your subscription? In that case, no registration is needed—the login credentials are the same.
Can I have a subscription in the app and on the plastic card?
Yes, you can use both identifiers, but not at the same time. In the new app, you can switch between them as you like.
Where can I download the app?
The app is available for download on Google Play and the App Store.
I used the original Vary Virtual app. What now?
You don’t need to create a new account! Just download the new version, enter your email, and set a new password. Your subscription will appear automatically.
My subscription isn’t showing up in the app. What should I do?
Check that you’ve logged in with the same email address you used in the original app or the one you provided when applying for the plastic Karlovy Vary Card. Try restarting the app as well. If your subscription still doesn’t appear, contact our helpline.

How to start?
The web and mobile app interfaces are intuitive. But if you want to have everything 100 % under control, we’ve also prepared a detailed guide.
Download the Vary Virtual mobile app and sign up. You can start buying single-ride tickets right away. Payment is made via Apple Pay or online credit card.
If you want to purchase a long-term pass, you’ll need to personalize your account. Fill in your personal information and upload a portrait photo (feel free to use one taken with your mobile phone). When purchasing a pass, whether in the mobile app or on the e-shop, select your subscription device—mobile phone. Choose the option you always have with you. You can change your device at any time.
You often ask...
The option to own a Karlovy Vary Card in the form of a plastic card remains available; however, users of time-based passes will now have to choose which medium they will use for their paid long-term fare. Technically, it is not possible to have a time-based fare loaded on both media at the same time, i.e., both in the mobile app and on the plastic Karlovy Vary Card. However, it is possible to have the mobile app with a time-based pass loaded in it and select your mobile phone as your identifier.
Registering for—or creating—a virtual Karlovy Vary Card in the Vary Virtual mobile app is simple, done entirely online, and does not require a visit to or authorization at the ticket office on Zeyerova Street. However, during a fare inspection, passengers are required to present proof of eligibility for a discounted fare. Passengers who abuse the Virtual Card system by using invalid or altered documents during registration and activation of the service violate the carrier’s contractual terms of service and are subject to penalties.
You can update your information after logging in to your account under the "My Account" tab.
Follow the same procedure if your mobile phone is stolen or replaced. Log in to your account and block the associated mobile phone (go to the “Identifiers” tab and click “Block”). Transfer your time-based subscription to your new mobile phone (the “Ride Coupons” tab, the “Transfer Coupon” button). The time-based subscription will remain active for up to 1 hours after it is transferred.
Follow the same procedure if you forget your cell phone. In this case, the ticket inspector will issue a ticket inspection report, but all you need to do is visit the ticket office on Zeyerova Street within 30 calendar days with a fully charged cell phone and show that you have a valid time-based pass, and you will not be charged a fine.
In-app purchases can only be made online, but if you have already purchased a time-based subscription coupon, you can use it without an internet connection.
